Yeah, so anyway, that&#8217;d be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crankymonkeybutt.com\/snip\/archives\/2008\/08\/big_screen_wall.html\"><strong>Wall-E<\/strong><\/a>, which was fine but animation isn&#8217;t really my thing.<\/p>\n<p>The best <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crankymonkeybutt.com\/lists\/2008\/03\/books_read_in_2008.html\">book <\/a>I read in August was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crankymonkeybutt.com\/snip\/archives\/2008\/08\/mysteryfiction_1.html\"><strong>The Likeness by Tana French<\/strong><\/a>. It&#8217;s somewhat of a sequel but you don&#8217;t really need to have read the earlier book to enjoy it; different main character.<\/p>\n<p>The best <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crankymonkeybutt.com\/lists\/2008\/03\/duff_does_live_music_2008.html\">gig <\/a>I went to in August was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crankymonkeybutt.com\/snip\/archives\/2008\/09\/in_concert_grea.html\"><strong>Great Lake Swimmers<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>My favorite <strong>tunes <\/strong>in August were the songs that wound up on my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crankymonkeybutt.com\/snip\/archives\/2008\/09\/awesome_dragonc.html\">current favorite playlists<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Random personal highlights:<\/em> (Only) one day at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crankymonkeybutt.com\/snip\/archives\/2008\/08\/lollapalooza_fr.html\">Lollapalooza <\/a>(this time around); <strong>Silvia <\/strong>came to Chicago two weekends in a row! Woot!; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/cinnachick\/2828946635\/in\/photostream\/\">Hot Doug&#8217;s <\/a>with <strong>Cinnamon<\/strong>. I actually went to KIP twice, if you can even believe that. And then there was this little thing I went to called <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/girlreaction\/sets\/72157607074295633\/\">Dragon*Con <\/a><\/strong>(which also encompassed a week long trip to Georgia to crash the Happy Pants home).<\/p>\n<p><em>Lowlights? <\/em> I don&#8217;t know, looking back it seems like it was a fairly decent month. Maybe bursting into uncontrollable tears about 15 minutes after meeting my crush?
