People.  <strong>ALL BOOKS<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>So an official decision was made by myself to give myself carte blanche over lunch today and here&#8217;s what I&#8217;m carrying home tonight:<br \/>\n<UL type=\"square\"><LI><em>The Hungers<\/em>, by Claire Messud<br \/>\n<LI><em>The Lone Pilgrim<\/em>, by Laurie Colwin (recommended by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elizabethcrane.com\/blog\/index.html\">Betsy<\/a>)<br \/>\n<LI><em>That Eye, The Sky<\/em>, by Tim Winton<br \/>\n<LI><em>The Lost Art of Keeping Secrets<\/em>, by Eva Rice<br \/>\n<LI><em>Housekeeping<\/em>, by Marilynne Robinson (I&#8217;ve already read this, but I read a library copy)<br \/>\n<LI><em>Forgetfulness<\/em>, by Ward Just<br \/>\n<LI><em>Bright Angel Time<\/em>, by Martha McPhee<br \/>\n<LI><em>Freddy and Fredericka<\/em>, by Mark Helprin (I&#8217;ve been tempted by this many times, but there are already two equally thick Helprins in the pile mentioned below&#8230;.Someday!)<br \/>\n<\/UL><\/p>\n<p>These will just be added to the bottom of the already huge &#8220;to be read&#8221; pile, but who could pass up FIFTY PERCENT OFF, even on hardcovers?
