I think I was in kindergarten.<br \/>\nMEREDITH: Exactly. <strong>No<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>For years and years and years, my Dad and I had this ongoing conversation about how so far (at the time) my life didn&#8217;t have any of those big &#8220;where were you when&#8230;&#8221; moments.  He had so many.  JFK&#8217;s assassination.  MLK&#8217;s assassination.  Significant moments of Vietnam, in Space, etc.<br \/>\nAnd the Challenger?  Not one of mine.<\/p>\n<p>I remember where I was:<br \/>\n<UL type=\"square\"><LI>When JFK Jr.&#8217;s plane went missing.<br \/>\n<LI>When the second plane hit the World Trade Center\/when they fell.<br \/>\n<\/UL><\/p>\n<p>I think that&#8217;s it.  For now.  I don&#8217;t count &#8220;knowing where I was when Bush was re-elected&#8221; because although that will be much more damaging to my life in the long run, I prefer not to remember it.<\/p>\n<p>Another favorite conversation:<br \/>\n<em>MEREDITH: What\u2019s your favorite 80s group?<br \/>\nINTERN #1: \u2018Queen\u2019.<br \/>\nMEREDITH: <strong>No<\/strong>.<br \/>\nINTERN #2: Twisted Sister.<br \/>\nMEREDITH: <strong>Uh<\/strong>!<br \/>\nINTERN #2: It\u2019s not like there\u2019s a right or wrong answer to that question.<br \/>\nMEREDITH (to herself): <strong>Oh yeah<\/strong>, \u2018the GoGos\u2019, \u2018Duran Duran\u2019, \u2018The Eurthymics\u2019 \u2026<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MEREDITH: Where were you when the \u2018Challenger\u2019 exploded?
