{"id":543,"date":"2007-08-09T18:50:57","date_gmt":"2007-08-09T18:50:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/crankymonkeybutt.com\/wordpress\/?p=543"},"modified":"2011-10-29T12:28:41","modified_gmt":"2011-10-29T17:28:41","slug":"best_of_july","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/crankymonkeybutt.com\/snip\/archives\/2007\/08\/best_of_july.html","title":{"rendered":"Best of July."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The best <strong>movie <\/strong>I saw in July was probably <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.crankymonkeybutt.com\/snip\/archives\/2007\/07\/big_screen_la_v.html\"><strong>La Vie en Rose<\/strong><\/A>, although I don&#8217;t think it was the movie I enjoyed the most (given my ridiculous Pisces empathy trait, watching movies about people whose childhoods were just SO crappy kinda stresses me out).  And despite me not liking the last 15 minutes or so, I thought <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.crankymonkeybutt.com\/snip\/archives\/2007\/08\/big_screen_suns.html\"><strong>Sunshine<\/strong><\/A> was pretty good.<\/p>\n<p>The best <strong>book <\/strong>I read in July was <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.crankymonkeybutt.com\/snip\/archives\/2007\/07\/fiction_freddy.html\"><strong>&#8220;Freddy and Fredericka&#8221; by Mark Helprin<\/strong><\/A>, which was just side-splittingly hilarious and super sweet and nostalgic all at the same time.  Worth its weight.<\/p>\n<p>The best <strong>concert <\/strong>I went to in July was <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.crankymonkeybutt.com\/snip\/archives\/2007\/08\/in_concert_trav.html\"><strong>Travis<\/strong><\/A>.  It was just a wonderful show.  Really made me smile.<\/p>\n<p>My favorite <strong>tunes <\/strong>in July?  Hmmm.  Well, I still spent a LOT of time listening to <A HREF=\"http:\/\/crankymonkeybutt.com\/snip\/archives\/2007\/07\/current_favorit-4.html\"><strong>The National &#8220;Boxer&#8221;<\/strong><\/A> which is really leading the running for my number one album this year.  I also really like <strong>Jason Isbell<\/strong>&#8216;s solo album, the new <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.crankymonkeybutt.com\/snip\/archives\/2007\/07\/the_magic_numbe.html\"><strong>Magic Numbers<\/strong><\/A> (!!), girlie music from <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.crankymonkeybutt.com\/snip\/archives\/2007\/07\/new_releases_i.html\"><strong>Sara Bareille<\/strong><\/A> and <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.crankymonkeybutt.com\/snip\/archives\/2007\/07\/maria_taylor_ne.html\"><strong>Maria Taylor<\/strong><\/A>.
