One high energy, intense and dramatic; versus one calm, deliberate, determined and yet still as dramatic in its own way.<br \/>\nThe best two <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crankymonkeybutt.com\/lists\/2007\/12\/duff_at_the_movies_2007.html\">movies <\/a>I saw in September were <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crankymonkeybutt.com\/snip\/archives\/2007\/09\/big_screen_in_t.html\"><strong>&#8220;In the Valley of Elah&#8221;<\/strong> <\/a>and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crankymonkeybutt.com\/snip\/archives\/2007\/09\/big_screen_the_13.html\"><strong>&#8220;The Bourne Ultimatum&#8221;<\/strong><\/a> (I&#8217;m a little late on that one, I know).  Both were excellent in very different ways.<br \/>\nThe best two <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crankymonkeybutt.com\/lists\/2007\/12\/books_read_in_2007.html\">books <\/a>I read in September were <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crankymonkeybutt.com\/snip\/archives\/2007\/09\/nonfiction_unde.html\"><strong>&#8220;Under the Banner of Heaven&#8221;<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crankymonkeybutt.com\/snip\/archives\/2007\/09\/memoir_a_three.html\"><strong>&#8220;A Three Dog Life&#8221;<\/strong><\/a>.  As with flicks, high contrast between the two, yet equally satisfying.<br \/>\nThe best two <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crankymonkeybutt.com\/lists\/2007\/12\/duff_does_live_music_2007.html\">gigs <\/a>I went to in August were <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crankymonkeybutt.com\/snip\/archives\/2007\/09\/in_concert_ben_1.html\"><strong>Ben Harper &#038; the Innocent Criminals <\/strong><\/a>and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crankymonkeybutt.com\/snip\/archives\/2007\/09\/in_concert_the_4.html\"><strong>The National<\/strong><\/a>.<br \/>\n<S><em>I&#8217;ll [add to this] post later my favorite tunes in September&#8230;<\/em><\/S>[I&#8217;ll talk about September tunes. Later. In another post. Hopefully. We&#8217;ll see.]<br \/>\n<em>Random personal highlights:<\/em> Buying lots of new Fall clothes, although hardly getting to wear them this month; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sundayundies.com\/\"><strong>Jen <\/strong><\/a>in town for drinks!!!; and FINALLY it&#8217;s time for FALL TV!!! [Kinda a slow month, eh?]<br \/>\n<em>Lowlights? <\/em>  Can the summer heat go away now please?
