Yes, as funny as the previews made it look, but really so much more than that.  Heartbreaking and bittersweet and some really lovely, deeply sincere moments.<\/p>\n<p>I tried to keep my expectations low considering several much-hyped indie flicks this year that I did not feel were all they were cracked up to be (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.crankymonkeybutt.com\/snip\/archives\/2007\/06\/big_screen_wait.html\">Waitress<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crankymonkeybutt.com\/snip\/archives\/2007\/06\/big_screen_knoc.html\">Knocked Up<\/a>, I&#8217;m talking to you).  This surpassed even my more optimistic hopes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I&#8217;m impressed.<\/strong>  Strong performances, lovely soundtrack.
